Balayage is a French word meaning 'to sweep' or 'to paint' and allows our expert colour technicians to carefully apply hair colour precisely where it will highlight your features and enhance your hair cut. The most popular effect is for a bespoke sun-kissed blonde balayage, although we can create all sorts of effects.

Foilayage

'Foilayage' is a perfect mixup of balayage & traditional highlights. It involves the same sweeping method used in freehand balayage, however, sections of hair are then wrapped in foil highlights instead of being left to air dry. This is to allow the hair to lighten further, intensifying the lifting effect of the highlights. The results are simply stunning!

Foilayage highlights are applied to the hair in V shapes, away from the root to provide natural looking regrowth. They are often placed around the front hairline to frame the face and define your features beautifully. These flattering highlights are weaved very finely or hand-painted directly onto the hair to give multi-dimensional colour. Your root colour isn't coloured meaning a more natural look. Better still, this colour looks just as fantastic grown out as it does freshly done in the salon!

Ombré

An ombré hair colour is usually more obvious than balayage, so you can see the colour difference between the tones used. Traditional ombré has a lighter colour at the tips of your hair than at the roots, while a reverse ombré has darker tips and lighter roots.

Shadow Root Balayage

Also known as colour melting, root drag or root stretch colour, this popular colouring technique for women blends your root colour towards a lighter shade at the tips. Colour melt hair can be low maintenance as you get a softer regrowth line. The root colour is expertly dragged or smudged into another similar colour from the roots to the ends, creating a naturally blended result.

Face Frame Highlights

Face frame highlights can be teamed with a traditional balayage and is where thicker, often lighter and more obvious strands of hair are added around the front hairline. You may also hear face frame colour be called money piece highlights or hair contouring.

Babylights

Babylights are super fine streaks of colour that aim to give the effect as if your hair has been kissed by the sun. Babylights differ from balayage as hair is placed into a foil rather than being left exposed. The highlights are normally a lighter, brighter blonde colour.
